Good stuff from MIT World (video): Inside Tahrir Square (Feb. 25),
Gaza in Crisis with Noam Chomsky and Nancy Murphy (Jan. 21)
Anna Badhken and Fotini Christia on Afghanistan (Fall 2010)

Clean air, of all things, is now under attack from the new Congress. Read the Scientists Statement on the Clearn Air Act from the Union of Concerned Scientists. (February 2011)

A good, if brief, explanation of neorealist thinking nowadays that emphasizes modest expectations in military activism abroad, from the Boston Sunday Globe. It features Barry Posen of MIT, Steve Walt of Harvard, Andrew Bacevich at B.U., and John Mearsheimer at Chicago. (Feb 7, 2011). Too bad they didn't get asked about Libya.

The Project on Defense Alternatives has sensible analysis on defense budgets and related issues. They take DoD to the woodshed over its most recent projections. (January 2011)

"What the Women Say": a major study of the UN's attempt to give women a place at the peace table (Oct-Nov 2010) - with my colleague Sanam Anderlini, I managed a six-nation case study on the ways in which women are becoming involved in--or impeded from--peace processes.  Read the study   Watch the video

Relevant to the crisis in the Middle East (the 2011 crisis), is this fine piece in The Boston Review on Islam and democracy, in its last issue of 2010.

The Iran Crisis, and Opportunity: a 2009 "white paper" about how to deal with a regime that is increasingly isolated and authoritarian.
